How Julius came to facing the bullet

Julius Malema is facing a triple threat: the hawks, the public protector and his own political party the ANC. But why now? Why have previous calls for investigation into his finances being ignored? Why have his previous bad behaviours gone largely unpunished? The answer is a simple matter of accounting. Malema was an asset to Zuma and Mantashe, but has now become a liability. His undoing was suggesting that the ANCYL would support other candidates for the presidency and secretary-general positions. This is a simple matter of politics... eliminate your threats. The disciplinary hearing of a Malema is going to show where the true power is in the ANC, and might just be Zuma’s last chance to throw his weight around. This is a battle Zuma can’t afford to lose.
